Defending Free Market Capitalism

Owning and operating a small business means you’re often the first one in and/or the last one out of your office building.

It also means large chunks of your weekends are spent in that same office, working for clients. Here’s a little secret: I love it. My family comes first, but that is why I do what I do. My awesome wife  works much harder juggling her job and her oversized role of raising the kids and keeping the home ship afloat.

As for my work? My dad weeded onion fields in the depression. Crawling on his hands and knees for hours in the hot sun for the equivalent of spare change for his single-mother led family. He did this as kid. THAT’s hard work. I get paid to think and to communicate. If I break a sweat it’s because the A/C is out.

I love my job and my company, and I love delivering results for my clients. A hot cup of coffee and a few minutes on social media as a mid-morning break and now it’s back to business. Tonight’s adult beverages and dead animal on the backyard grill will be savored all the more because of the work that preceded it.

God has blessed me with an awesome family and an awesome opportunity to help provide for them. It’s a great day. I hope yours is great as well.
