The folks at WTMJ’s Milwaukee studio called the Edge Messaging production facility in Brookfield and we discussed tonight’s looming federal government shutdown. Who wins? Who loses? Who’s to blame? Will anyone blink?
I had the pleasure of joining Steve Scaffidi this week on his WTMJ 620 radio show. We talked about the new Trump White House expose, Fire and Fury and Wisconsin politics, including the US Senate and Governor’s race.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Milwaukee radio host Dan O’Donnell for this week’s show. I got his take on a number of subjects including Governor Walker’s re-election bid, optimism in the Trump Era and whether #FakeNews is a real thing.

You may have heard 620 WTMJ in Milwaukee recently did some shuffling of its line up, moving Steve Scaffidi to late mornings, a time period Jeff Wagner took over after the departure of Charlie Sykes. Wagner is now back in his old early afternoon slot. Scaffidi invited me on this morning to go through a rundown of all things politics, both state and national. You can hear the whole segment here.
You can read more about the line up changes at 620 here.
Scott Walker released a new campaign video this week, officially kicking off his re-election bid. Theo Keith of Fox 6 visited the new Edge Messaging offices in Brookfield to get my take.
“The best thing Scott Walker has going for him isn’t the Wisconsin economy, it’s the Wisconsin Democratic Party,” said Fraley.
Fraley says the big unknown is the mood of voters a year from now, and whether they take out their frustrations on Republicans like Walker.

John Mercure of 620-WTMJ radio reached out to me to get my thoughts on President Trump letting Reince Priebus go as Chief of Staff, replacing him with retired General (and Homeland Security Secretary) John Kelly.
Listen to the segment starting at 12:00.
WTMJ radio’s Steve Scaffidi and Erik Bilstad invited me on their show this afternoon to talk about the new Marquette Law poll. Some take aways for me, despite the heat in the GOP budget debate, people still feel like the state is going in the right direction rather than on the wrong track. On the national scene it’s clear the GOP has a messaging problem (I’m looking at you healthcare bill.) The poll shows it hasn’t done a good job explaining the benefits of the reform long or short term.

Dark stores. Zero-based accounting. Budget stalemate. Despite these ominous sounding topics, this episode of The Wheelercast was upbeat and (as always) informative. Gwyn Guenther of The Wheeler Report brings you the latest from the State Capitol in Madison.
Intra-party discord is a new thing in Madison, right? Actually, no, it’s not. We look into the Wheeler archives for details.
We also look ahead to potential Joint Finance Committee action this week and we pay special tribute to two important Capitol players.
The Wheeler Report’s Gwyn Guenther and I talk about this and more in this week’s Wheelercast.
Have state budget negotiations broken down? Can the Assembly and Senate get on the same page this week? This month? The Wheeler Report’s Gwyn Guenther and I discuss in this inaugural episode of the Wheelercast.
